ABOUT THE CAST

With a triple platinum solo debut album, two upcoming feature films and a hit television series, HILARY DUFF (Sam/Cinderella) is one of Hollywood 's fastest rising stars.

The dynamic young actress garnered world-wide recognition as the star of Disney Channel's Emmy-nominated hit series Lizzie McGuire in which she portrayed a teen navigating the turbulence of middle school cliques, trendy styles and rites of passage while her animated, brassy alter ego gives running commentary. Lizzie McGuire premiered in January 2001 and can currently be seen every day at 7:30 p.m. on Disney Channel and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. on the ABC Television Network.

In May 2003, Duff brought her character to the big screen with Walt Disney Picture's hit comedy The Lizzie McGuire Movie . In addition, Duff co-starred in March 2003 with Frankie Muniz in the MGM film Agent Cody Banks . The in-demand actress also co-starred in the 20 th Century Fox hit Cheaper By The Dozen with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, released December 25th, and recently completed filming New Line's Heart Of Summer with Rita Wilson, Jason Ritter and Oliver James.

In 2002, Duff starred in the blockbuster Cadet Kelly , which ranks as Disney Channel's highest rated original movie ever, the top-rated movie on both broadcast and cable television for its premiere week and cable television's highest rated movie to date in 2002.

The multi-talented Duff has crossed over to other platforms, making her singing debut with the single “I Can't Wait” on the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack from Walt Disney Records. The song quickly catapulted up the charts on Radio Disney and the album was certified Gold by the R.I.A.A. last December. She followed her successful debut with the release of her own Christmas-themed album, “ Santa Claus Lane ,” from Walt Disney Records. In addition, Duff performed "The Tiki Tiki Room" on the Disneymania album. The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack on which she performed two songs including the hit “Why Not” entered the Billboard soundtrack charts at #1 and was certified Platinum in June 2003. In August 2003 , she released her Triple Platinum solo debut album, Metamorphosis , which it reached #1 on the Billboard charts its second week. She is currently on a national concert tour.

Duff's enormous popularity was further proven with a nomination for Favorite Television Actress for Nickelodeon's 15th Annual Kids' Choice Awards and she accepted the award for Lizzie McGuire, which was voted Favorite Television Series in both 2002 and 2003. She was also named Choice Breakout Female Movie Star for The Lizzie McGuire Movie at the 2003 Teen Choice Awards on FOX and was recently honored with the Rising Star Award by Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Duff made her stage debut at age six with BalletMet Columbus and its touring company of The Nutcracker . Her subsequent role in a television commercial spurred her longing to act and she soon amassed several television and film credits.

On television, she was featured in the mini-series True Women with Dana Delaney and Rachel Leigh Cook, in Soul Collector which earned her a Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Actress, and in a guest-starring role on Chicago Hope . She had theatrical roles in Playing by Heart with Sean Connery, Dennis Quaid and Gena Rowlands, as the friendly ghost's best friend, Wendy, in the successful video release Casper Meets Wendy , and in the Cannes Film Festival favorite Human Nature with Tim Robbins.

Born September 28, 1987, Duff splits her time between homes in Houston and Los Angeles with her parents, sister and two dogs. Duff has served on the Advisory Board of the Audrey Hepburn Child Benefit Fund and is actively involved in Kids with a Cause, which helps disadvantaged youth around the world.

 

With an impressive body of work that encompasses television, film, and theatre, JENNIFER COOLIDGE (Fiona) is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood 's most versatile and sought after talents. Last summer, she was seen in two of the year ' s largest grossing comedies. In MGM's Legally Blonde II: Red, White, and Blonde , she starred opposite Reese Witherspoon as Paulette, the innocent manicurist with an unexpected and hilarious tough side, and returned to the screen as Stiffler's Mom in the much anticipated American Wedding , Universal's third installment of the raunchy teen classics. Currently, Coolidge is filming Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events , directed by Brad Silberling and also starring Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep and Jude Law. She has also recently signed a deal with NBC to develop and star in her own half hour comedy.

Coolidge is probably best known for her breakout performance in Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy's critically acclaimed Best In Show , in an unforgettable role as a woman whose love for her 95 year-old husband is based upon such similarities as peas and soup. In 2001, Coolidge starred in the Broadway production of Claire Boothe Luce's comedy The Women and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. The all-star cast also featured Kristen Johnson, Rue McClanahan, Cynthia Nixon and Mary Louise Wilson. Coolidge started her career at the renowned Groundlings Theatre and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emerson College . She landed roles in such films as Trial and Error , Restaurant , and A Night at the Roxbury .

More recently, she has appeared in Brown's Requiem , the hit Comedy Austin Powers: the Spy Who Shagged Me , Broken Hearts Club , Down To Earth , and Pootie Tang . Coolidge has also appeared on television with recurring roles in King of the Hill and as a hilarious guest star on Seinfeld as a bewildered girlfriend. She has also appeared as a series regular on such shows as Ladies Man , Strip Mall , Blind Men , Another Shot , She-TV , and Roseanne's Sketch Comedy Show . Her guest star appearances have included roles on Sex and the City , Friends , Sketch Pad and Rude Awakenings .

A young actor whose performances have earned praise from critics and audiences alike, CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY (Austin Ames) is a talent on the rise. Murray is currently starring as the lead on The WB's hit drama, One Tree Hill . Murray stars as Lucas Scott, a brooding intellectual whose skills on the basketball court are matched only by his growing attraction to the beautiful girlfriend of his half-brother.

Murray 's previous television roles included playing the love interest for Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams on Dawson's Creek and Rory's overconfident classmate on Gilmore Girls . Other television credits include Aftermath with Meredith Baxter Birney and Robert Ulrich, and the title role in The WB's The Lone Ranger .

He will star as the lead in Joel Silver's House Of Wax , opposite Elisha Cuthbert, currently in production. He recently co-starred in the critically acclaimed remake of Freaky Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.

Murray was born and raised in Buffalo , New York where he also attended college on scholarship. He currently lives in Los Angeles . He is an anti-drug role model for kids and is active in charities for children and teens.

 

Thanks to roles in a number of prominent films, REGINA KING 's (Rhonda) distinguished talents have not gone unnoticed by Hollywood . The skilled actress will next be seen in Unchain My Heart: The Ray Charles Story (opens October 29 th ) where she will star opposite Jamie Foxx. In the film, King portrays Margie Hendricks Charles' outrageous mistress. Additionally, King is currently in production on Miss Congeniality 2 , opposite Sandra Bullock. The sequel finds Bullock reprising her role as FBI Special Agent Gracie Hart and King will play Samantha, a fellow FBI agent. The duo -- at odds with each other at first -- are partnered up and must head to Las Vegas on a new case.

King most recently appeared alongside Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde, the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2000 hit Legally Blonde . Last year, she also added Daddy Day Care to her impressive list of credits, starring opposite Eddie Murphy.

Born and raised in Los Angeles , King made her television debut on the hit sitcom 227 . After five seasons, King made the leap to the silver screen with a role in John Singleton's powerful directorial debut, Boyz N the Hood. She would soon collaborate with Singleton again in Poetic Justice and Higher Learning . King has always been consistent in showing her dynamic range, bouncing effortlessly from dramatic material to comedic performances, such as the hit film Friday with Ice Cube and A Thin Line Between Love and Hate , opposite Martin Lawrence.

If there was a definite turning point in her career, it came in 1997 with her memorable role as Cuba Gooding Jr.'s wife Marci in the blockbuster film Jerry Maguire . This led to starring roles in How Stella Got Her Groove Back , with Angela Bassett, the hit action thriller Enemy of the State , opposite Will Smith, the family adventure Mighty Joe Young , with Charlize Theron, and the comedy Down to Earth , opposite Chris Rock.

King found her way back to the small screen in 2000 with a role in HBO's acclaimed telefilm If These Walls Could Talk 2 and in the 2002 NBC comedy, Leap of Faith .

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS

(Director) MARK ROSMAN 's twenty year career in the film business has spanned features, TV movies and TV series as both a writer and director. His career started with the now cult classic horror/thriller The House on Sorority Row which Rosman wrote, directed, and produced. The film became one of the highest grossing independent theatrical features of 1983 and was mentioned as a horror classic in the movie Scream 2 .

Rosman moved from suspense to fantasy in the picture The Blue Yonder , which starred Peter Coyote and Art Carney. He wrote and directed this TV movie for ABC/Disney, which earned nominations for both a CableAce Award for Best Cable Movie and a Writers Guild Award. Rosman went on to write and/or direct more feature films and TV movies starring actors such as Kim Delaney, Jason Gedrick, Sean Young, Ben Cross and Daniel Baldwin. He developed writing and directing projects in a variety of genres from thriller, sci-fi and comedy to family drama for numerous companies including Columbia Pictures, HBO, Walt Disney Studios, ABC, TBS and USA .

His recent credits include writing and directing the high-rated comedy Life-Size , starring supermodel Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan from Freaky Friday . He also directed the television movie Model Behavior , starring Kathie Lee Gifford and ‘N Sync's Justin Timberlake, as well as writing the action/thriller Dead In A Heartbeat for TBS, starring Judge Reinhold, Penelope Ann Miller and Timothy Busfield. Rosman's series television work has included directing over 15 half hour episodes for the hit comedies Lizzie McGuire , State of Grace and Even Stevens .

Rosman's next project re-teams him with Hilary Duff in The Perfect Man .

 

CLIFFORD WERBER (Producer) worked as a film executive at 20th Century Fox Film Corporation and Warner Bros. from 1986 through 1999 during which time he worked closely on numerous films such as The Abyss , Home Alone I and II , Broadcast News , Grand Canyon and Braveheart.

During his studio tenure, Werber also oversaw Fox's and Warner Bros.' successful co-production and acquisition of both English-language and indigenous films in several international territories including Germany, Italy, France and throughout Latin America, including films such as Trainspotting, Girl of Your Dreams, Open Your Eyes and Orfeus , as well as several live-action and animated family films including Germany's Asterix Conquers America, Fearless Four and A Rat's Tale , Japan's My Neighbor Totoro , the award-winning Shiloh, Little Men, Family Tree and My Dog Skip .

Werber conceived of and independently developed A Cinderella Story after leaving Warner Bros. in 1999. In 2002 he attached the film's director, Mark Rosman and, with Rosman, the film's star Hilary Duff, before bringing it back to Warner Bros. Pictures for production in 2003. Werbe r has since entered into an overall producing deal with Warner Bros. Pictures.

 

Former film and television executive ILYSSA GOODMAN (Producer) is currently working independently with several major studios and production companies on a slate of high profile motion picture and television properties. She has just signed on to produce the feature film adaptation of The Wish , based on the popular young adult novel by Newbery Award-winner Gail Carson Levine (Ella Enchanted). Next, Goodman will be producing the indie feature, Princess , slated to begin shooting this summer in Washington , DC . Other projects in development include The Paw , Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher , Anne Frank & Me and One Night . Goodman continues her resolve to bring quality entertainment to the screen as demonstrated with her award-winning film, Summer of the Monkeys, which went on to set financial records through its Disney release.

On the television side, Goodman recently sold her original series format, Mall Or Nothing to The Style Network and co-executive produced the popular teen series, Moolah Beach . The series, based on Goodman's original concept, was a critical and ratings success for both Fox television and The Family Channel.

Goodman started her career in New York with a post at Miramax Films before heading to Los Angeles to take a position at Universal Studios. She made her transition into television as Vice President of Filmed Entertainment for Bonneville Worldwide Entertainment (BWE), where she oversaw the development, production and distribution of more than a dozen highly rated network television movies and two award-winning original films. Goodman left BWE to work with Discovery Network's Animal Planet, where she guided the development and production of several highly rated original movies and award-winning series.

Goodman is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Santa Barbara International Children's Film Festival Award, the Heartland Film Festival's Crystal Heart Award, and Audience Choice Awards at both the Telluride and Marco Island film festivals.

 

HUNT LOWRY (Producer) heads Gaylord Films and its specialty division, Pandora, with which he structured a long-term co-financing and production deal with Warner Bros.Pictures. Under this deal, Lowry produced the box office hits What A Girl Wants starring Amanda Bynes, Colin Firth and Kelly Preston; A Walk To Remember , starring Mandy Moore and Shane West; The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood , starring Ashley Judd, Ellen Burstyn and Sandra Bullock; and White Oleander , starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Renee Zellweger and Robin Wright Penn. Lowry's recent producing credits include The Blue Collar Comedy Tour starring Jeff Foxworthy; the sci-fi thriller Cypher , starring Jeremy Northem and Lucy Liu; and the hip teen skateboard comedy, Grind. Lowry is currently producing Dreamer , a family drama set in the world of thoroughbred horse racing, and is in post-production on Duma , directed by Carroll Ballard, about a boy and his pet cheetah in South Africa . He is in pre-production on Capa , a drama based on noted photographer Robert Capa.

Lowry executive produced the critically acclaimed film Donnie Darko starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, Noah Wyle and Patrick Swayze, which premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize as well as three Independent Spirit Awards.

Previously, Lowry produced such films as Disney's The Kid starring Bruce Willis; Jon Turtletaub's Instinct , starring Anthony Hopkins, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Donald Sutherland; A Time To Kill , directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Sandra Bullock, Matthew McConaughey and Ashley Judd; First Knight , directed by Jerry Zucker and starring Sean Connery, Richard Gere, and Julia Ormond; Revenge , starring Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn and Madeline Stowe; My Life , starring Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman; Michael Mann's The Last of the Mohicans , starring Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe; Only The Lonely (with John Hughes), directed by Chris Columbus and starring John Candy. Lowry also produced Career Opportunities, Top Secret, Get Crazy, and associate produced Airplane (with Jerry Zucker), starring Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty.

His television executive producer credits include HBO's Baja Oklahoma and Rascals and Robbers: The Secret Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn for CBS. He also produced the CBS mini-series Dream West , and telefilms including His Mistress , Wild Horses and Surviving for ABC Theatre.

A native of Oklahoma City , Oklahoma , Lowry attended Rollins College and Wake Forest University . In 1976, he came to Los Angeles to visit his older brother, Dick, who was studying at the American Film Institute. Once in Los Angeles , Lowry fell in love with film and decided to abandon his plan to study medicine and stay in Los Angeles . He lives in Hancock Park with his screenwriter wife Christine, their son Oliver and daughter Libby.

 

DYLAN SELLERS (Producer) born in Los Angeles , studied first at the University of California at Berkeley , then at Hastings Law School , and graduated with honors from both.  He became a successful entertainment attorney at the firm of O'Melveny & Myers.  After a hiatus traveling throughout Southeast and Western Asia, including several months in India , Sellers decided that it would be more fun to make movies than just legally represent them.

Sellers joined Touchstone Pictures as a creative executive in 1987, ascended to the position of vice president, production, at Simpson/Bruckheimer Productions in 1988, and became president of Lee Rich Productions in 1991.  In 1993, Sellers joined Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation as executive vice president, production, overseeing such films as Kiss of Death , The Edge , The Crucible and Nine Months .  Sellers also acquired the hit comedy There's Something About Mary .

He recently produced Agent Cody Banks and its sequel, Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London . Other recent credits include the television series The Black Sash for The WB, Valentine , with Denise Richards and David Boreanaz, and The Replacements , starring Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman. Sellers also produced Walt Disney Television's You Ruined My Life and the features Passenger 57 , The Music of Chance , The Paper , The Amazing Panda Adventure , Big Bully and Out to Sea .

Sellers makes his home in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.

 

. MICHAEL RACHMIL (Executive Producer ) most recently produced Torque and the smash hit spoof Not Another Teen Movie . He has also served as executive producer on The Glass House , The In Crowd , Universal Soldier: The Return , Major League: Back to the Minors , The Glimmer Man , Nowhere to Run and Flatliners .

Rachmil's producing credits include Major Payne , Lassie , L.A. Story , No Holds Barred , Punchline , Roxanne , Quicksilver and Runaway .

 

PETER GREENE (Executive Producer) is the type of person one would consider a “jack of all trades” in the entertainment business. His feature producing credits include After Midnight , from the writers of Pitch Black and featuring Marg Helgenberger; The Cool Surface , starring Robert Patrick and Teri Hatcher; and Painted Hero , with Dwight Yokam.

Greene produced one of the most popular reality television specials of all-time: Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction . Additionally, he is a partner in the entertainment promotions and marketing company Vision Mixer Films.

 

KEITH GIGLIO (Executive Producer) counts among his writing credits the comedy Noah , starring Tony Danza, and the drama Joshua , with Tony Goldwyn.

Upon arriving in Los Angeles , Giglio met director Mark Rosman because they shared a garage. A Cinderella Story marks Giglio's first producing credit.

 

LEIGH DUNLAP (Writer) grew up in Studio City , California and attended the USC School of Cinema-Television.  A Cinderella Story is her first produced screenplay.  She is currently working on Camp Rockaway for Red Wagon Productions and Columbia Pictures and Spy Girls , for producer Karen Barber, at Lawrence Bender Productions. 

Dunlap lives in London , England with her husband, Jim, and son, Farrell.

 

ANTHONY B. RICHMOND, ASC / BSC (Director of Photography) has been a cinematographer for over three decades. His most recent credits include Shade , Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights , The Sweetest Thing , Legally Blonde , A Walk on the Moon, Ravenous , and Someone Like You .

Additional film credits include Men of Honor , First Kid , Bastard Out of Carolina , Sandlots , Candy Man , That's Life , Love and Bullets , Nicolas Roeg's The Man Who Fell To Earth and Don't Look Now , for which Richmond won a BAFTA award for his work.

On television, Richmond has worked on And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story , Rough Riders , Heart of Darkness , In the Arms of a Killer and Settle the Score .

 

CHARLES BREEN (Production Designer) studied architecture at Cranbrook , the world-renowned art and design school, before moving to California to pursue his career, where he quickly gravitated to the film industry. As an art director, he has worked with such acclaimed directors as Ridley Scott ( Blade Runner), Mike Nichols (Postcards From the Edge ), Richard Attenborough ( Chaplin ), and Walter Hill ( Looters ). Breen has also worked with Barry Levinson on Disclosure , Clint Eastwood on The Bridges of Madison County and William Friedkin on Jade .

The jump from art director to production designer found him designing the controversial and critically acclaimed film Your Friends and Neighbors, for director Neil LaBute, starring Jason Patric and Ben Stiller, and the dark comedy Nurse Betty, also for LaBute, starring Rene Zellweger. Breen was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Art Direction on HBO's Weapons of Mass Distraction .

Breen sits on the Executive Committee of the Art Director Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

His recent film projects include Boat Trip , Eight Legged Freaks , Dude, Where's My Car , Urban Legend and She's All That .

 

CARA SILVERMAN, A.C.E. (Editor) recently completed editorial work on The Guru , directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer, and the comedy See Spot Run , her previous feature collaboration with director John Whitesell. More recent credits include Head Over Heels , directed by Mark Waters, The Best Man , Permanent Midnight , Party Girl and Malibu's Most Wanted.

Silverman has also worked on Paul Schrader's Touch ; Robert De Niro's A Bronx Tale and Jeffrey . Her television work includes the American Playhouse production of Blown Sideways Through Lif e.

 

CHRISTOPHE BECK (Music) has composed over fifty scores for both film and television. His most recent credits include Cheaper by the Dozen , Under the Tuscan Sun , Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star and American Wedding .

Additional film credits include Just Married , The Tuxedo , Stealing Harvard , Big Fat Liar , Bring It On and Airborne .

For television, Beck is probably best known for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer , for which he won an Emmy Award in 1998 for Outstanding Music Composition. He also earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Direction for Buffy in 2002. Other television credits include the series Angel , The Practice , Spy Game , Good Company , Land's End and White Fang .

 

DENISE WINGATE (Costume Designer) counts among her recent projects the Michael Tollin drama Radio , starring Cuba Gooding Jr.; the romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing , with an ensemble cast led by Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair; and the black comedy Novocaine , starring Steve Martin, Helena Bonham Carter and Laura Dern.

A Southern California native, Wingate began her career designing costumes and touring with new wave headliners The Bangles. She went on to design for such hit television shows as Melrose Place and Models, Inc .

Among her feature film credits are Soul Survivors , Blue Streak , Cruel Intentions, She's All That , Judas' Kiss , The Alarmist and The Last Time I Committed Suicide . She also served as costume designer for the television production of Cruel Intentions , the TV movie Perfect Prey and the CBS comedy series Almost Perfect .

Her designs will next be seen in the feature thriller Paparazzi .

Wingate is currently in production on the romantic comedy The Wedding Crashers , starring Owen Wilson, Jane Seymour and Christopher Walken and set for a 2005 release.
